Welcome to Everyday Mathematics. It is a part of AlGhazaly School’s Mathematics curriculum developed by the University of Chicago School Mathematics Project. Everyday mathematics, which is a research-based program, offers children a broad background in mathematics by implementing a problem-solving approach based on everyday situations, frequent practice of basic skills, an instructional approach that revisits concepts regularly, and a curriculum that explores mathematical content beyond basic arithmetic.
Our Kindergarten class has transitioned to the new Envision Mathematics program. The Envision math program combines problem-based learning and visual learning to deepen students’ conceptual understanding. Envision lessons start with Problem-Based Learning (PBL), where students must think critically about a real-world math problem, evaluate options, collaborate, and present solutions. This is followed by Visual Learning to solidify the underlying math concepts.
